Overview
John Behr is a consulting psychologist and the founder of John Behr Group, LLC (JBG), a service firms specializing in talent assessment and professional development. John works with clients to achieve measurable improvements in performance through assessment, training, and coaching solutions.Across almost 20 years in practice John has refined his expertise in the assessment and development of talent. He and his firm have conducted thousands of assessments for the selection, promotion and development of individuals at all levels. Clients have ranged from major airlines and manufacturing corporations to family businesses and biotechnology startups to nonprofits and new college graduates. He and his associates have coached individuals at all level of numerous fortune 500 corporations.
In the government domain, John has consulted with the US State Department and has conducted hundreds of psychological evaluations for the screening of American police leaders as candidates to serve as aids to rebuilding the law enforcement infrastructure in post war-torn environments such as Kosovo, Bosnia, East Timor and Qatar.
When the Federal Government took on the challenge of restructuring the Chicago Housing Authority, John redesigned their leadership development initiative, building numerous programs for the progressive development of senior management. He also developed a preventive system to assist CHA leaders in proactively addressing issues of violence in the workplace.

John obtained his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Marquette University and his masters and doctoral degrees in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the Institute of Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is active with the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He served for three years on the Board of Examiners for the Lincoln Award for Business Excellence (Malcolm Baldrige-Illinois) and teaches business psychology courses at Loyola University of Chicago.
