Dajani, Psy.D., M.F.T. Dr. Dajani has been in practice for over 15 years. He uses an evidence based psychodynamic approach to provide a safe setting were patients can heal and develop skills that make them more resilient. Dr. Dajani received his B.A. in philosophy and mathematics from St. John's College. In 1994, he received an M.A in counseling psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies with an emphasis on mindfulness based practices to mental health and healing. In 2001, Dr. Dajani earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkley. He fulfilled his internship requirements at the University of California San Francisco and Mount Zion Hospital where he completed extensive clinical training in psychodynamic and forensic psychology. Yes we can! Self-defeating behavior and destructive emotions can be changed.

It has been demonstrated that a good psychotherapy does a lot more than help you resolve problems. As a person develops psychological capacity through psychotherapy their brain grows new structures that we can actually see on neuro-imaging instruments. In a very real way, depth therapy is a biological intervention. It changes the anatomy and function of the brain.

Like most of my colleagues on this site, I am a sensitive therapist with extensive training in diagnosing and treating complex emotional problems. Additionally, I am particularly interested in psychological resilience. I recently published an award winning paper on psychological resilience.

From a psychological point of view, resilience is a set of mental capacities that strengthen your ability to resolve difficult emotion and build enriching relationships. Resilience can be cultivated.

I provide a therapeutic environment that allows you to address current life obstacles, transform destructive emotion and build a repertoire of skills that improve the way you feel and relate with other people.
