Overview

Natalie Fisher has been practicing psychotherapy for over 25 years. She graduated from the Simmons College School of Social Work in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to beginning her private practice, she had experience at a counseling agency, a mental health center and a hospital. She has received additional training in short term problem solving psychotherapy and in long term in depth psychotherapy. She is recognized as having maintained an active interest in her profession through continuing education.

Personal Statement

People who seek my help do so for many reasons. Often they have experienced a loss, feel they have been unable to reach their career goals or are in unsatisfactory relationships. Sometimes there is a specific problem such as infertility or sexual dysfunction. When people contact a therapist, it is usually because they have exhausted their own resources. This does not mean that their situation is hopeless. I believe that people have a capacity for change and growth throughout their lives.

In my role as a caring and skilled therapist, I provide an environment in which the patient and I together can uncover the patterns of behavior which have impeded their progress toward a satisfactory life. In addition to understanding the roots of these behaviors, psychotherapy reveals an individual's strengths. Knowledge of the past and confidence in one's one's own ability lead to problem resolution and the enrichment of one's life.
