Tamar Friedman is a Licensed Clinical Social worker who received her BA (Psychology) from Cornell University. She was Phi Beta Kappa and a Merril Presidential Scholar. She received her master's degree in Clinical Social Work From Loyola University School of Social Work. She has more than 12 years of experience working with individuals and families in a variety of settings including outpatient counseling centers and inpatient psychiatric departments. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. During my years working as a therapist I have seen the enormous positive impact therapy can have on people's relationships and lives. I see my goal as a therapist as to help the people with whom I work develop a better understanding of themselves, develop insight and understanding into their feelings and issues, and make positive changes in the part of their lives and relationships causing emotional pain and difficulty.<br /><br /><br /><br />Through this process I provide support, compassion, encouragement and education and help individuals draw upon their strengths as they address whatever issues have brought them to treatment. I have seen over and over again how this process can ultimately lead to the healing of old wounds, improved relationships, less emotional pain and suffering, the breaking of unhealthy patterns, better coping skills, better communication skills and other changes which culminate in happier and more fulfilling lives.<br /><br /><br /><br />In addition to working with adults and couples, I have extensive experience working with adolescents and children.
