She addresses eating disorders, relational difficulties, loneliness & more. In 1985, Joyce earned a master's degree in clinical social work from Loyola University Chicago. She also has a master of fine arts degree from Northwestern University. In addition to her private practice she worked for twelve years in the Winnetka School District. Joyce is a member of the Illinois Society for Clinical Social Work, Chicago Association for Psychoanalytic Psychology and the National Association of Social Workers.

Joyce is on the provider referral list for Northwestern University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and for the Pace Program of National Louis University and accepts student insurance from the Northwestern Chickering Group. She provides a sliding fee scale when appropriate and will gladly submit insurance claims. Picking up the phone and making an appointment with a psychotherapist takes a great deal of courage. I recognize that it is difficult to share personal information with a complete stranger. Therefore, it is my responsibility to provide a safe and comfortable environment. I use the first three sessions both as an opportunity for me to assess how I can best help and as an opportunity for you to determine if you are comfortable working with me. People get trapped in patterns of behavior that are no longer serving them. When this happens, people often have feelings of anxiety, emptiness, sadness, feelings of being overwhelmed, low-self esteem, and problems with relationships. My experience confirms that by working together to develop a treatment strategy, the potential for change is limitless, and people can make changes that lead to a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
