Personal Statement
Picking up the phone and making an appointment with a psychotherapist takes a great deal of courage. I recognize that it is difficult to share personal information with a complete stranger. Therefore, it is my responsibility to provide a safe and comfortable environment. I use the first three sessions both as an opportunity for me to assess how I can best help and as an opportunity for you to determine if you are comfortable working with me. People get trapped in patterns of behavior that are no longer serving them. When this happens, people often have feelings of anxiety, emptiness, sadness, feelings of being overwhelmed, low-self esteem, and problems with relationships. My experience confirms that by working together to develop a treatment strategy, the potential for change is limitless, and people can make changes that lead to a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
