Grandstaff Carol A. Grandstaff, M.A., L.C.P.C. has a special interest in working with conflictual couples teaching skills to help troubled relationships become unstuck. Carol A. Grandstaff has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and has been in practice as a psychotherapist for over 10 years. In addition, she also holds a Masters Degree in Philosophy. She is a graduate of Beloit College. Most of us set out on a path of personal growth, because our pain becomes too high a price to pay for not changing. I am always inspired by my clients efforts to change and to reclaim their true selves. I view my role in the therapeutic relationship as one which helps them do so. I believe that if a person is willing to look at the behaviors and emotions they fear most about themselves they will also find enlightening aspects that have been hidden to them in the past. The freedom to live authentically can be the wonderful reward.

I believe that being honest, empathetic, and direct is the most helpful way to encourage genuine change in a safe environment. My most frequent psychotherapeutic approaches are Cognitive-Behavioral psychotherapy, Psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and Family Systems approaches. I emphasize short-term psychotherapy whenever possible and beneficial for the client.

I'm especially interested in helping indivduals with codependency issues, anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem improve their lives. Also, I have a special interest in working with conflictual couples and families teaching listening and conflict resolution skills to help troubled relationships become unstuck. This is very effective helping behavior change.

I teach conflict resolution and listening skills to conflictual couples to help them learn to resolve issues. I will take any PPO, including Blue Cross Blue Shield and Magellan. AdolescentsAdultsChildrenCouplesFamiliesSeniors Female</flattened-content>
