Personal Statement
It is my belief that when someone is experiencing difficulty participating fully with those around them, that it is a desire for things to be different and not age or stage of life that is important. I work extensively with children and the concerns most prevelent for them and their family, as well as seeing a number of adult men and women who desire a change. As a clinical psychologist, I feel it is of great importance to have a comprehensive understanding of the many influences impinging on the lives and well-being of the clients I serve. To that end, I continue to support my doctoral training in clinical psychology by participating regularly in educational opportunities to more fully appreciate the biological and social influences on how we live. Such a comprehensive perspective is incorporated into my therapy with the children and adult clients with whom I form professional relationships, as well as in the psychological evaluations I complete. To support the change desired by clients, I have successfully worked with professionals in law, education, and psychiatry in a respectful and cooperative relationship. Finally, I bring to my practice of clinical psychology a practical perspective developed as a husband, father, employee, and friend, allowing me to appreciate both the challenges and the successes experienced by my clients and their family's.
