13 Percent of Teens with Problem Acne Attempt Suicide

Acne may have devastating effects on the mental health of teenagers, a new study shows. In a New Zealand study of nearly 9570 students age 12 to 18, nearly 35 percent of the students with problem acne also reported suicidal thoughts and ten percent reported having attempted to kill themselves. These students were also more than twice as likely to report symptoms of anxiety and depression.
