Spinal Fluid May Hold Biomarkers for Alzheimer's

Preliminary tests by researchers at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York have identified a pattern of 23 proteins in spinal fluid which have thusfar identifed Alzheimer's disease with promising accuracy. While further research is necessary, scientists hope these findings will someday mean doctors can test for the disease via spinal tap. Currently, Alzheimer's disease is only diagnosable through autopsy.
