Male Voice Reveals Physical Prowress

The octave a man speaks in may tell as much about him as an animal's roar. New research shows that in men, voice conveys vital information about age, health, physical strength and emotional state. Researchers studied men ranging from Amazonians to U.S. undegraduates for the study. Participants were measured for muscle mass and strength and asked about their fighting history. Each individual also recorded one sentence in his native language. When male and female undergraduates were asked to estimate the speaker's physical strength, height and weight based on the recording, they were almost uniformly correct. However, for female voices no such relationship was found. SHARE:
