Mr. Impavido has a Masters Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Pittsburgh. His Bachelors Degree is in Bible and Theology from Toccoa Falls College, where he also minored in Pastoral Ministries and Christian Education.

Mr. Impavido is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Addiction Counselor. He has worked in the Drug and Alcohol field since 1980 and with Sexual Addicts since 1985.

He was the Program Coordinator on the Dual Diagnosis Unit at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in Pittsburgh PA. He also was part of a team that established the Living Sober Rehabilitation Program for dually diagnosed patients in Braddock, PA.

Personal Statement

I use three approaches to recovery: the Christian approach, the psychological approach, and the 12-step approach. I believe that each offers significant points of view and ideas that the others do not emphasize. To leave out any aspect of recovery is to shortchange the client.

My concern is that my clients receive the highest quality of care that I can offer. Addiction is such a vicious condition, that it must be treated with every resource available.

My heart especially goes out to the many wives who are married to sexual addicts. Their pain is so deep that those who are not in their place can never really imagine it. They especially need the healing power of Christ that is often left out in conventional practice.

My desire is to take the message of hope to addicts and their spouses who suffer. People are recovering and you can too.
