She began her residency in 1987, and after spending 6 months at Cook County Hospital learning E.R., Neurology, and Internal Medicine, she spent 3 1/2 years training at the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute, which is currently affiliated with the University of Illinois. Her training at Cook County Hospital helps her to rule out medical causes of Psychiatric problems. The medical career is at the beginning of a new era. Physicians including myself have been narcissistic to reject managed care, after so many years of hard work. However with the cooperation of patients, families, communities and managed care, health care dollars can be spent well so that patients can remain with the same physician throughout their lives (if need be) instead of losing their funds inappropriately in the beginning of their treatment.
