> What is a Multidisciplinary Conference?

The multidisciplinary conference (MDC) is the follow-up meeting after the school district has completed the evaluation of your child. The purpose of the meeting is to inform the parents of the results of the school's evaluation and the recommendations of the multidisciplinary team. The school district must notify you of the date, time and purpose of the multidisciplinary conference at least 10 days before the meeting is convened. If you cannot attend, the district must reschedule the meeting at a new date and time. If it is difficult for you to attend, you should notify the district immediately. The school must use other methods to ensure your participation such as conference telephone calls or visits to your home or place of employment. In addition, the district must provide interpreters at the meeting if you are hearing impaired or do not speak English.
