Laura Kohn graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in Mental Health Counseling. She also worked as the lead therapist for a nationally known treatment program for survivors of trauma and abuse before starting her individual practice. Laura is a board certified hypnotherapist and has extensive training in the use Advanced Clinical Hypnosis, a method of treatment that removes the negative emotional component of traumatic experiences painlessly. She has additional training in Incorporation Therapy and Rapid Trauma Resolution, modalities of treatment specifically designed for trauma survivors. Laura is also a member of the American Association of Professional Hypnotherapists and specializes in removing negative emotions, beliefs, and behaviors painlessly.

Personal Statement

I use a holistic approach with my clients and focus on taking a common sense approach to treatment. I concentrate on giving my clients coping skills and strategies they can use immediately to improve their lives, and work on building on current strengths not just assessing weaknesses. While gathering insight is helpful, insight alone will not help you to manage your depression or build meaningful relationships with others.

I have specialized training in the treatment of PTSD, and the Dissociative Disorders, and have worked as the lead therapist in a nationally recognized trauma treatment program before starting my individual practice. I have advanced training in Incorporation Therapy and Rapid Trauma Resolution, two modalities of treatment designed specifically for trauma survivors that remove the emotional component of traumatic experiences painlessly. I am a board certified hypnotherapist and a member of the International Academy for Advanced Clinical Hypnosis. I work with individuals, couples, and do group therapy. I also offer a Fast Track Recovery Option that allows people to complete deep level work in a fraction of the time it would take using traditional talk therapies. If you don't have time to commit to weekly therapy sessions Fast Track Recovery is an excellent option.
