Dr. Liberman is trained and experienced in dealing with a wide range of psychological problems in adults, adolescents and children.

Overview

Dr. Liberman has an A.B. in psychology from Indiana University and a Ph.D. in psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He trained at Beatty Hospital in Indiana. Dr. Liberman is board certified in both Clinical Psychology and in Child & Adolescent Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. He is also a graduate psychoanalyst of the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. Dr. Liberman has been on staff at several Chicago area hospitals including Michael Reese. He has also been on the teaching faculty of a number of universities including the Northwestern Medical School. Dr. Liberman is currently an Assistant Professor at the Chicago Medical School.

Personal Statement

One of the many things I have learned in my 30+ years of practice is that successful psychotherapy is an intensely personal experience. It has to be uniquely tailored for each individual - there really is no "one size fits all" solution. It is my job as the psychotherapist to capitalize on strengths, respond to needs, and help define and compartmentalize the personal difficulties that are standing in the way of growth.

The last 30 years have convinced me that respect and understanding are the cornerstones of successful psychotherapy. This holds true for the individual or a family, a child or an adult.
