Personal Statement

I believe that psychotherapy must be informed by a developmental model that gives appropriate weight to the influences and complexities of temperment, history, current experience, and existential concerns. I employ an interpersonal approach that organizes the history of psychological and social development as expressed in contemporary interpersonal relations at times manifest in troubling subjective experience and behavior. The analysis of interpersonal relationships provides for the kind of understanding and experience that leads to an awareness of new possibilities in living and a renewed capacity to act for oneself.
