Personal Statement

My treatment style is very interactive with my clients. I believe that the supportive therapeutic relationship enhances a clients ability to change. I have a desire to see my clients reach their goals and feel successful in the destinations that they chose for themselves and their families.

When asked, I describe my practice as a general practice. It is rare to find an individual that enters my office with only one issue. Typically the issues are multiple and complex. Due to this you want a therapist that can find the true issues and complications with the issues that you present when entering a therapist office. My practice offers counseling for marriage/family, addictions, anxiety, depression, school issues, special education issues and many other areas.

Regularly I attend seminars to increase my skills and knowledge of current issues that people are facing. My approach is interactive and direct. It is my believe that engaging actively with a patient is helpful to get to the core of the issue and build a therapeutic relationship.

In addition to my counseling practice I am a mediator for the Illinois State Board of Education. As a result of my training in this area I do have a knowledge base on the school system when working with children with learning disabilities that is more unique than other therapist.
