Overview

Cindy obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida and her graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She received specialized training in Couples and Marital Counseling at the Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy. Cindy completed her practicum at Women In Distress and continued working there for 4 years after completing her degree. At Women In Distress she received additional training in conducting individual and group therapy with survivors of domestic violence.

I can help you pinpoint what is causing distress, and find a different, healthier way to deal with the situation, so that you can bring clarity, balance and joy back into your life. I also use guided imagery and relaxation exercises to help you connect with inner strenghths and improve emotional well-being.

I specialize in individual and couple's counseling. My goal in a couple's session is to assist couples in moving beyond the disillusionment phase of relationships by bringing back the intimate connection, learning how to really listen, understand and empathize with each other and create a loving and supportive relationship.
