Overview

Dr. Ron obtained her B.A. in Behavioral Sciences from the Ben-Gurion University in Israel. Dr. Ron received a Masters in Counseling Psychology,and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago.

Throughout her career, Dr. Ron has attained diverse experiences working with individuals from all walks of life and in a variety of settings. Dr. Ron directed and managed a branch of a national head-hunting agency specializing in addressing issues of vocational choice and career. Additionally, Dr. Ron worked for the Israeli local diplomatic mission to support the local community and diplomatic staff on issues related to immigration and acculturation. Moreover, Dr. Ron served as a clinical supervisor at a child welfare agency, specializing in child and adolescent mental health, family development, crisis and divorce,adoption, and parenting.

For seven years, Dr.Ron has provided assessment and treatment to individuals and families recovering from substance abuse, trauma, incarceration and homelessness within an inner city transitional residential program, with a specialty focus on dual diagnosis, acute, chronic and complex trauma, addictions and recovery. In this setting, Dr. Ron served as the co-director of the training program in psychology, supervised members of the professional staff and graduate doctoral students in psychology, as well as consulted to program directors and management.

Currently, Dr. Ron teaches at the Adler School of Professional Psychology, consults to local businesses and corporations,and has her own private practice in Skokie,Arlington Heights, and Chicago.

I pride myself on creating a warm, supportive, personal, and empowering environment in which people grow, evolve, learn and heal. I practice from a psychodynamic and relational orientation and utilize cognitive and behavioral interventions. I have extensive experience working with people from all walks of life: adults, adolescents, and children, and addressing a variety of challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, identity issues, self-esteem, substance abuse, and life transition (i.e. divorce, immigration or illness), family planning, family relationships, and parenting.

Years of experience have taught me that happier, healthier and successful families, and relationships stem from more aware, confident, and well balanced individuals.
