Overview

Paula received her Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University of Chicago in 2002. After working with children in daycare and school settings as a teacher, she returned to school to earn her Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Counseling Psychology in 2006. She completed her internship at Family Counseling Center in Joliet Illinois working with children, adolescents and adults

Personal Statement

As a therapist, I believe that all people have the potential to make positive changes in their lives. When working with children, I affirm to parents that they are the experts on their children. As a therapist, i work with the entire family to facilitate change by emphasizing parenting skills training, education about development and empathic listening skills. When working with adults, I use cognitive behavioral and insight oriented therapy to enable clients to realize what changes they need to make in their lives to overcome their challenges.
