Personal Statement
Making a difference in people’s lives through active listening, understanding and supporting while encouraging healthy thoughts and behaviors is the focus of my work.
My vision of therapy is both preventative as well as ongoing treatment. I concentrate and build upon ones strengths. This perspective promotes my clients to develop adaptive coping strategies which bolsters their self esteem and self worth. I use an eclectic approach drawing from psychodynamic, client centered, cognitive behavioral and biopsychosocial models in order to experience my client as a whole, both mind and body. Due to my specialty in health psychology, my work includes collaboration with other practitioners in order to provide the best care to my clients.
I use an eclectic approach incorporating cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, family systems and interpersonal therapy. I find that my clients and I find a style that works best for them and I will tailor my approach to their comfort level and stage of change.
Therapy is a shared experience. I look at our work as a process of exploration; understanding what factors have and continue to negatively impact my clients and assessing what the treatment needs will be. Please feel free to call if you have any questions or if you would like to make an appointment.
