Personal Statement
One of the greatest rewards of psychotherapy is to feel seen, recognized in one's most inner nature. Maybe this is what propels clients the most, as I have watched the transformation occur again and again when someone feels truly seen. I bring a broad and perhaps unusual set of skills to the counseling room, and I continue to train. I've also been given many lessons from my own experience of fifty-something years on the planet, but my greatest teachers have been my clients. Combined with my first career of doing bodywork and about 16 years doing psychotherapy, my clients have been teaching me for over 30 years.
Another great teacher has been a meditation practice of over 20 years. Not aligned with any particular religion, meditation has centered me and deepened my ability to listen, both to myself and to my clients.
I am twice married, once divorced, mom of a young adult son, and a moderately bad pianist who takes practice very seriously.
Don't ask me for advice on cars, but I will give an unusual depth of insight into your process.
