Overview

Julie Victor has been in private practice for 15 years. After receiving a Master's Degree from University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration (SSA) in 1986, Julie gained a two year certification in family therapy. More recently, Julie has taught social work students at SSA.

Julie believes that important education comes from life experience. Julie developed a "Passage into Motherhood" group to help first time mothers adjust to this profound experience after having her son more than four years ago. A new group is forming now to begin June 2008.

Personal Statement

I believe strongly in the power of talk: that my job is to listen attentively and help you talk about your concerns in order to understand your circumstance in a new way. At times, I will suggest different ways to look at a situation. My approach is supportive and positive, highlighting your strengths but also helping you to look critically the behaviors, beliefs and patterns that are not working for you.
