Overview

Alison Kuperman, LCSW, MSW, enjoys working with adults and teens struggling with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, eating disorders and parenting issues.

Alison is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT) which she uses with depression, anxiety and relationship related issues. Specifically, her treatment approach involves helping clients see things in a different perspective by challenging unproductive thinking patterns.

Alison has completed extensive clinical training at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) Medical Center. She has received a post-masters degree fellowship in Adolescent and Adult psychiatry. Alison has also trained an entire year on an adult eating disorder unit.

In addition to Alison's private practice, she is currently on staff at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Personal Statement

I am a very empathetic and supportive therapist and I believe in an individual's self-determination. I know that it can be very difficult to seek out help and I work very hard to create a secure, nonjudgmental and confidential environment.

Currently, I am in a private practice in the Chicago Loop. My office is easily accessible to several main 'L' stops and has a garage with validated parking available. (Corner of Wabash and Washington; 1 block west of Michigan Avenue.)

I am happy to answer email or phone questions to see if we're a "good fit." I provide sliding scale fees when necessary. Just ask. I am also a provider for most managed care companies.
