Personal Statement

Regardless of how many people are in my office at any one time, I approach all clients with a basic foundation that tells me that we learn who and how to be in the world from our families-of-origin, and from major life experiences. Since, it is also in the context of our families in which healing occurs, I remain mindful of my clients' families at all times; including current partners or roommates, biological families, in-laws, and families-by-choice, etc.

In more than 20 years of practice, working with people of all ages, I have learned that people truly have the answers to their own struggles, within themselves, and my job is to help them access those answers/solutions. There are a variety of obstacles we all use, to keep ourselves from our own answers, and I have collected a vast assortment of techniques and practices, to help my clients get to their true selves.

I want my clients to know that I love my work. I feel very fortunate to get to do what I love, and I do not take for granted that my clients honor me by allowing me to share their journeys with them. Pursuing therapy is a personal, and sometimes threatening or scary endeavor. My approach recognizes and welcomes your concerns.
