Personal Statement
I have been practicing as a Clinical Psychologist since 1989, treating children, adolescents, families and adults. I have a relaxed, down-to-earth, active, psycho-educational therapy style, as opposed to aloof, detached or "blank." Humor, intensity, enlightenment, validation, support and problem-solving are core elements of this style.
With child cases, I tend to focus on parent training and psychological/developmental education more than traditional individual psychotherapy. I find that the parents who bring their children to me are highly motivated and caring, and are eager to learn how they can more effectively help their children.
My treatment approach is to work collaboratively with a client's other providers (PCP, psychiatrist, etc.) and-in child cases-school personnel.
I would be pleased to speak with you about how I might be able to help to you.
